Larger homes on larger lots

A cut line is where two colors meet with no tape between them and it gets done by hand. Tape is useful on a few surfaces and it is a liability on texture, where paint runs under the edge and leaves you a worse line than a steady brush would have given you in half the time.
Doors are the other giveaway. A door painted hanging in its frame collects a run along the bottom edge and picks up roller texture across the face, and you feel both every single time you use it. Doors come off the hinges where it makes sense, get done flat and go back on.
The front entry, the sidelights and the garage door change how a house reads more than anything else on it. On one job in the area a home went from cream to a light gray with white trim and the front door came back burgundy, and the door is the part people remember.
Interiors, floors and doing them together
Plenty of the interiors here are a whole floor at once rather than one room, because these houses have open plans and a color that stops at an open corner never looks like a decision anybody made. That means planning the order of the rooms so you keep somewhere to live while it happens.
